Daily Mail

November 2018

Probably the most perfect, medical science rich, article we could have hoped for - on the myriad benefits of a simple tongue scrape ...

Dr Bryan, a specialist in molecular medicine from Baylor College of Medicine, Texas, contributed the science ...

Whilst we contributed the backstory ... the 'apple on the head moment'

"Company Director Mano Manoharan starting making AMANO Tongue Scrapers in the early Nineties after late nights at work as a record company executive left him with a coated, furry tongue. After a friend gave him a (cheap Indian) scraper, he noticed a dramatic improvement"

We also really liked the closing bit;

"If Nathan Bryan is right, then a tongue scraper could soon be as much a feature of the bathroom cabinet as anti-ageing potions"

'A Titan amongst tongue cleansers'

We are proud to be featured again in the medical journal of the British Dental Association.

"Having designed and made tongue scrapers for 25 years, AMANO is keenly aware that the key to 'effectiveness' is not just about how 'sharp' the scraper is.

On the contrary, an overly 'sharp' scraper will actually put most people off the routine, whereas a 'comfortable' scraper will mean the user is more relaxed about using a tongue scraper with conviction"

Tongue scraping 'will help fight the ageing process'

The most comprehensive article to date on the background and extensive benefits of tongue scraping

"Regular tongue scraping with the AMANO Tongue Cleanser can help 'good' oral bacteria to flourish in the mouth, while also helping to reduce dental caries and bad breath, enhancing taste, and reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease"

The article goes onto explain the link between 'good' oral bacteria, nitric oxide production and stem cell efficacy

"Stem cells' role is to heal the ageing body, helping to regenerate damaged or old cells"

AMANO2017 gets Top Marks in a fab review

(well 9.7 out of 10 ...)

"Whether you’re a Millennial wanting to remove the remnants of a heavy night of partying, a foodie wanting to look after your refined palate or an older person concerned about loss of taste sensitivity, AMANO is the answer to all your oral care issues. No wonder The British Dental Journal recently described the Neoclassic AMANO 2017 as “the Roman Emperor of tongue scrapers”. We couldn’t agree more!"

Judged "The best of the best" in a comprehensive review of tongue cleaners

Spoilt for choice on quotes but we also liked; "The AMANO range oozes quality"

(They also compared us to an Aston Martin or Bugatti - but we are far less expensive we hasten to add!)

Closing remarks were particularly good ...

"I admire the reason (behind the AMANO mission) and can say from first hand experience that I have converted myself to become a frequent tongue cleaner.  Out of all of the tongue cleaners reviewed, this is the gold standard"

Our focus on those with 'fading palates' is referenced in the world's leading business magazine - see 'Tongue and groovy' letter.

"A swift tongue-scrape removes the debris that blocks taste bud efficacy"

Regarding lovers of wine, at AMANO we are fond of saying;

'Old Vines might improve with age (and indeed old Wines) - but our taste buds certainly don't ...'

We are pleased to offer assistance in helping to enhance the wine experience

'Why Everyone Should Consider Tongue Scraping'

"I call tongue scraping the unsung hero of oral care. I don't see how anyone could try tongue scraping once, see the gunk you remove, and not become an enthusiast. A U-shaped scraper is where it's at. I really like super-stylish AMANO Tongue Cleansers"

Decanter

March 2015

'The world's best wine magazine', followed up its article on 'Age & your palate' (March 2015) with a letter; 'Protecting your assets' in its April issue.

Decanter kindly gave us the opportunity to outline the compelling medical evidence and noble history of tongue cleaning (the Editor, Amy Wislocki, is an advocate of tongue cleaning).

We also managed a shout to Early Adopter - President George Washington ...

Asiana Wedding

The premier magazine for; "the Asian Bride who wants more"

Features the AMANO in the Grooming Notes section;

"Keep your (tongue) clean and ready for a kiss ... a must-have grooming gadget"

More than 500 million Indians use a tongue scraper on a daily basis - so we are really chuffed that dedicated Indian tongue cleaners are increasingly happy to ditch their 'cheap & cheerful' scrapers for our rather more deluxe AMANO range

Decanter - the 'world's best' wine magazine

Talks about getting the most out of your wine experience - as your sense of taste and smell declines with age.

Here's our favourite quote:

"Poor oral hygiene affects the ability to taste. There is conflicting evidence that tongue cleaning makes a difference."

Naturally we don't agree that there is; "conflicting evidence" ...

It's pretty clear to us (checkout the BENEFITS tab) - if you are finally opening that prized 1961 Chateau Latour (at £2,000 a bottle) or more modest Bordeaux Supérieur - you owe it to yourself (and wallet) to get the absolute best from the experience.

After all - if you are going to the trouble of decanting and ensuring the wine is served at the correct temperature ...

Why not spend 5 seconds (yes that is all it takes with an AMANO Tongue Cleanser) making sure your tongue is in tip top form?

So unclog your taste buds (of all that food debris) and enhance your taste sensation ...

Cheers

Daily Mail

November 2014

Daily Mail's Good Health section featured the AMANO;

It asked a Dental Practitioner, who specialises in bad breath treatments to review our £12 solution (incidentally, he charges his customers £205 for the first appointment).

Not surprisingly perhaps, he was sparing in his praise.

He did admit this however:

"It's the most attractive tongue cleaner I've seen"

Bizarrely his advice was to; "hold your tongue in one hand and scrape it with the other".

That's not (we would suggest) a technique the Romans, Hindus and Victorians would have recognised (or George Washington perhaps?)

Men's Health

Talking Dirty;

"Bad breath aside, (your tongue) can contribute to Austin Powers-style discoloured teeth. Your toothbrush can do some of the job, but a dedicated cleaner is the best way to remove all the troubles overtaking your tongue."
